Among this week’s releases, Jatadhara stands out as the biggest film in terms of budget. Sudheer Babu leads this horror and devotional drama backed by top Bollywood producers. The film releases across India in multiple languages, aiming for a wide audience reach.
At the recent pre-release event, Sudheer Babu spoke honestly about his journey. He didn’t pretend to be a larger-than-life hero. Instead, he shared how much effort he put into Jatadhara. Still, despite his sincerity and the film’s scale, the buzz outside social media remains weak. The trailer had mixed reactions some visuals looked solid, while others felt over the top. The performances by Shilpa Shirodkar and Sonakshi Sinha also drew criticism for being slightly cringe-worthy.
Because of that, Sudheer Babu faces a tough box office test. Jatadhara is not releasing alone. It clashes with Rashmika Mandanna’s The Girlfriend, which already has traction thanks to her popularity. Meanwhile, Vishnu Vishal’s Telugu dubbed film Aryan carries little hype after failing in Tamil. Given the current scene, Jatadhara might attract mass audiences in B and C centres but only if early talk turns positive.
If Jatadhara works, it could give Sudheer Babu a much-needed comeback. His recent films have struggled badly, making this release crucial for his career. He also hopes that the dubbed versions will help the film find success beyond Telugu states.
Films with devotional and supernatural elements are doing well lately, which adds to Jatadhara’s chances. Beyond that, the movie needs strong word of mouth to survive and shine at the box office.
