It’s safe to say that Devara Part 1 was one of the average films of last year. It had high expectations but failed to deliver.

It could be considered a hit in the South and also managed to earn around Rs 30 Crores net in Hindi which is decent. But once it got released on OTT, it was highly trolled.
The fans could rewind and pinpoint where the film went wrong because of which it got quite bad reviews after its OTT release.

After the first part’s release, rumours have been spreading of Devara 2 being shelved.
That makes us question- Is the second part of the film really necessary?

Devara 2 is currently in the scripting stage. While it is said that this part will be bigger and better, fans aren’t really excited.
They think that it is a waste of time to work on the second part of the film. The makers already wasted 2 years on the making of the first part.
Janhvi Kapoor was highly trolled for her performance too. Fans thought her part only had some cheap vulgar dialogues. They were waiting for her 2-page dialogue which was promised during the promotions of the film but it never came.
In such a case, the makers have to work extra hard and give their all to make the second part better.
The sequel has the chance of working only if it is much better than the first one. Else it will take the same path as the first part and not match its expectations, leaving the fans disappointed yet again.
