Nayanthara’s No, Kajal’s Yes: Bad Idea?

Kajal Look as Parvathi Devi

Kannappa has been trying to generate buzz ever since it was announced. The film boasts a star-studded cast including Manchu Vishnu, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Akshay Kumar, along with a special appearance by Prabhas.

Prabhas’ involvement has significantly increased audience interest, making the film a regular topic of discussion.

As part of its promotional strategy, the makers of Kannappa have been releasing updates every Monday. This week, they unveiled Kajal Aggarwal’s look as Parvathi Devi.

The poster describes her as the “Mother of the Three Worlds, the Trishakti who blesses devotees, and the divine presence of Sri Gnanaprasoonambika at Srikalahasti.”

However, the response to the look has been mixed. Many feel that Kajal’s portrayal lacks novelty, and the background graphics appear subpar.

Furthermore, some have expressed that Nayanthara would have been a better fit for the role. Reports suggest that Nayanthara was initially approached for the part, but Kajal was finalized later.

Speculation is rife that Nayanthara demanded a hefty remuneration of 10 crores, leading the makers to opt for Kajal instead.

Kajal, who currently has limited opportunities in the industry, shares a good rapport with Vishnu Manchu since their collaboration on Mosagallu. This friendship appears to have played a role in her being cast as Parvathi Devi.
