Ram Charan-Sukumar’s RC17 was expected to begin with a pooja ceremony during Dasara. However, the launch did not happen, leaving Mega fans disappointed. Reportedly, the delay is due to Charan and Sukumar’s UK trip to scout locations for the film.
Now, Mythri Movie Makers producer Mythri Ravi has given an update on the launch date. Speaking at the Donga Naa Kodaka teaser launch event, he said RC17 would be launched on October 26 or 27 after choosing an auspicious time.
This confirms that the project is expected to take off soon, putting an end to the uncertainty surrounding its launch.
The team is said to be planning the regular shoot for December. Sara Arjun is being considered as the female lead, though an official confirmation is still awaited. Aneet Padda and Preity Mukundhan are also reportedly in talks.
Meanwhile, another major development surrounding RC17 has caught attention. Reports suggest Sukumar is planning to make the film in two parts. Ram Charan has reportedly agreed to the idea, but he wants the gap between the two instalments to be limited to a few months, just like Dhurandhar.
The concern is understandable. Sukumar‘s last film Pushpa took a long time to return with its sequel. Charan wants to avoid a similar situation and release both parts within a shorter period.
However, that may be easier said than done with Sukumar. The filmmaker is known for spending considerable time refining his scripts and scenes. His perfectionist approach could make it difficult to stick to an aggressive schedule.
For now, RC17’s two-part plan and casting details remain unconfirmed. The project has already generated considerable buzz, but fans will be hoping the wait does not become another long affair consuming 3-4 years of Charan’s prime career phase, like Game Changer or Peddi.
