In a recent round table chat session, Karan Johar talked about how things work in Bollywood, especially when it comes to how producers react to their movies’ reception.
He mentioned that producers usually don’t get too bothered if their movie is a big hit or a clear flop on the first day. However, when a movie gets an average or mixed response, producers start using all sorts of PR tactics to make it look good and somehow make it a success.
Karan openly admitted that he had done this himself. He shared that he has created posters with high ratings from critics who are not even known and spread them online for some of his movies. He also talked about releasing edited videos of people giving positive reviews to his films and trying to make them go viral to create a positive perception among moviegoers.
According to him, this is a common practice in the industry, especially for movies that are just okay and need that extra push to do well at the box office.
Now, some SRK haters are twisting Karan’s words. They’re making it sound like he’s exposing Shah Rukh Khan and his team’s tricks to make his recent movie “Dunki” a hit.
But Karan was talking about general practices in the film industry, not pointing fingers at any specific person. Some folks who don’t like Shah Rukh Khan are sharing edited clips from the interview, trying to make it seem like Karan Johar exposed SRK’s PR tactics.
These gimmicks are common even in the Telugu film industry as we have seen them happening for some of the films released in the last few weeks.
