Tollywood actress Lavanya Tripathi has approached the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police alleging online harassment and defamatory posts on social media.
According to the complaint, an Instagram account named “Purple Crayon00” has been posting abusive comments and offensive content targeting the actress and members of her family. Lavanya told police that the harassment has been continuing for some time and that several posts contain vulgar language and attempts to damage her reputation.
She stated that the posts were targeting her personal life and questioning her character and moral values. The actress requested the authorities to identify the individual operating the account and take strict legal action. She also asked police to ensure that the objectionable posts are removed from social media.
Based on her complaint, police have registered a case under Section 67 of the IT Act along with Sections 78 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Officials have begun an investigation to trace the person behind the Instagram account. The cyber crime team is working to identify the account operator and take necessary steps to remove the offensive content as part of the probe.
