Mahesh’s DOP, Love is worth more than awards

It can’t be just the opinion of Mahesh fans, everyone who knows at least a bit of the technical details of a Director of Photography (DOP) job knows that Rathnavelu did a commendable job for ‘1-Nenokkadine’. But coming to Filmfare awards of 2014, DOP Vinod won it for Akkineni’s family film ‘Manam’.

Obviously Mahesh’s fans are disappointed as ‘1-Nenokkadine’ was considered one of the best technically handled movies of 2014. On not winning the award, Rathnavelu thinks that public appreciation and fans love is worth more than awards and he opines ‘1-Nenokkadine’ is one of his best work aesthetically and technically.

Mahesh fans too agree with him and thank him for the best monument he gave to them. They too opine, awards may or may not come but Rathnavelu cinematography is the best gift to them. If not for other categories, many cine observers too hoped that ‘1-Nenokkadine’ for Rathnavelu would win the award.
