Energetic Hero Ram has entered the Sankranthi ring. His forthcoming film, Red is all set to release on January 14th as Makara Sankranthi Special. The movie which was supposed to release for Summer 2020 got postponed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The makers have resisted the temptation of opting for the OTT Release and finally releasing in theaters. The movie will compete with Ravi Teja’s Krack, Vijay’s Master, etc for the festival season. Red is the official remake of Tamil Blockbuster, Thadam. The trailer of the film released recently is promising.
Incidentally, the release date of Red was announced a day after Tollywood’s first notable release, Solo Brathuke So Better released and got a superb opening. The reception of Solo Brathuke So Better seems to have infused confidence in them. Ram plays a dual role in the movie which is a crime thriller.
The only problem is that the movies are going to release with 50% occupancy and that is unlikely to be increased by then. If all the movies releasing for Sankranthi manage to get good reception, the industry will be back to normal and the biggies will lineup for Summer.
