The latest news in Tollywood is that celebrations for ‘double platinum’ audio CD sales are being held and latest big movies like ‘Baadshah’, ‘Mirchi’, ‘Greekuveerudu’, ‘Shadow’, ‘Nayak’ and ‘Iddarammayilatho’ are being included. However the question is whether there are actually enough sales of Tollywood music to celebrate Platinum sales? Platinum sales comprises when 75,000 units are sold and since this celebration is about double Platinum sales which mean 1,50,000 units, is this just an old trend being followed still or is there really so much sale.

Accoring to Bandla Ganesh, famous producer, Platinum sales have been celebrated for almost decades now and he questions whether this is just an age old ritual being followed. But the inner news is that the sale of music has been decreasing quite drastically and Umesh Gupta, audio company owner, revealed that they have to rely on things like ringtones and caller tunes for audio sales.
