Wife Namrata Decides Which Scripts Reach Mahesh Babu?

Namrata Shirodkar and Mahesh Babu discussion

Satya Dev’s Rao Bahadur, directed by Venkatesh Maha and backed by Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainment, is gearing up for its theatrical release on July 3. During the film’s promotions, Venkatesh Maha made an interesting revelation, not just about the film, but also about how important professional decisions are taken in Mahesh Babu’s household.

The director clarified that Rao Bahadur is a psychological drama and not a horror or thriller, as many have assumed. However, it was his comments about Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar that grabbed attention.

Venkatesh Maha revealed that he narrated the script to more than 70 people before the project finally found a home. Despite several narrations, nothing materialized until Namrata Shirodkar came into the picture.

According to the director, Namrata listened to the script along with Sharath and Anurag. It was only after that narration that the project began moving forward.

The biggest surprise came when Venkatesh Maha disclosed that Mahesh Babu himself never actually heard the script narration. Instead, the discussions happened with Namrata, who later discussed the story and the overall vision with Mahesh before the project was approved.

The revelation once again highlights Namrata’s important role behind GMB Entertainment. She is not merely involved in production logistics but is also actively evaluating scripts, interacting with filmmakers, and filtering projects before they reach Mahesh.

With Mahesh occupied by shooting schedules, promotions, and brand commitments, he seems to be completely relying on Namrata’s judgment.

Over the years, several people from the industry have hinted that Namrata plays a major role in Mahesh’s career decisions, whether it is film choices, production ventures, or brand endorsements.

Whether Namrata’s judgment translates into box office success will be known when the film releases on July 3.
