Director Rahul Sankrityan had some big words for Rashmika Mandanna at the Ranabaali pre-release event. He called her a gold mine and said she could reach any level. He also asked her, “Do you know you’re India’s top actress?”
Calling Rashmika Mandanna a gold mine is understandable. She is a talented actress who has effortlessly carried several challenging roles. She has also had a successful run across industries. Films like Animal, Pushpa 2: The Rule and Chhaava have helped her reach a wider audience, including in the Hindi market.
However, calling her India’s top actress is a different matter. Several actresses across Indian cinema are delivering hits and earning recognition for their performances, so the title is bound to spark debate.
Rahul clearly has a lot of confidence in Rashmika, but whether she deserves to be called India’s top actress is something audiences may have different opinions on.
