50-crore Hindi Film

Director Prasanth Varma’s superhero film “Hanu Man” has achieved a significant milestone at the box office, crossing the 50 crore net mark in its dubbed Hindi version.

Starring Teja Sajja in the lead role, “Hanu Man” initially had a limited release, garnering approximately 2.10 crores net in Hindi. However, fueled by overwhelmingly positive word-of-mouth, the film gained momentum, reaching over 50 crores net on its 30th day in theaters.

Now, all eyes are on upcoming pan-India releases from Tollywood that have the potential to surpass the 50-crore mark.

Ravi Teja’s “Eagle” was released in Hindi last week but struggled to even collect 2 crores in its opening weekend in Hindi-speaking regions. With disappointing reports, prospects for the film seem bleak.

Similarly, Varun Tej’s “Operation Valentine” aims to capture the Hindi market, but given the lukewarm response to “Fighter,” expectations are limited.

Thus, hopes are pinned on major Tollywood releases like “Kalki 2989 AD,” “Pushpa 2,” “Devara,” “Game Changer,” and “OG.”

Additionally, there’s anticipation surrounding the Telugu film “Razakar: A Silent Genocide of Hyderabad,” produced by a BJP leader, slated for release on March 1, 2024. The film carries a controversial tone reminiscent of successful propaganda-based films.

If well-made and well-received by a segment of the audience interested in such agenda-driven films, it could make significant waves in Hindi-speaking states.
