Director Puri Jagan delivered a massive blow to the trade and Vijay Devarakonda with “Liger.” His next film, “Double ISMART,” repeats the commercially successful combination of the director and hero Ram.
For “iSmart Shankar” (2019), the music from Mani Sharma stood as a backbone. Puri has roped in Mani again for “Double ISMART,” and the team delivered the first song, ‘SteppaMaar,’ a few days ago.
Though the song is aimed at pleasing the masses and has no issues as it is, the very important first song failed to grab immediate attention.
Considering Puri’s current standing, the first song ideally should have become a talking point and turned into an instant chartbuster, but that wasn’t the case at all.
In short, passable numbers won’t do much for pre-release buzz unless there is a solid, repeat-worthy chartbuster that will keep the film in the audience’s memory.
Let’s see what Puri has extracted from Mani Sharma and if the second song will have any luck in this very important aspect.
