PM wants 6 days a week work structure!

Looks like Narendra Modi is employing Chandra Babu’s strategy after 1999 election. Babu used to say to the bureaucrats – I will not sleep and I will not let you sleep. Narendra Modi is going on the same line. The new Prime Minister is so eager to fulfill all his promises as soon as possible and in the process wants the bureaucrats and Ministers to work 6 days a week. The 5 days week work structure came in to force during Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure.

However BJP is asking the Prime Minister to be cautious in taking such decision as it will make employees angry. Experts also say the employees are accustomed to the current work structure and it is not easy to dissuade them. Narendra Modi had set 100 days target to all the departments and ministries. He wants to assess the work being done after the first 100 days and take such decisions if things are not progressing at expected pace.
