Pooja Hegde was last seen in Salman Khan’s disaster Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Since then she has been keeping low. She initially signed up for “Guntur Kaaram” opposite Mahesh Babu but backed out just in time, which turned out to be a smart move as both the movie and the role she was supposed to play got slammed with harsh criticism.
Now Pooja Hegde is working with Shahid Kapoor in Deva. She’s also got another project in the pipeline with Siddhu Jonnalagadda, directed by Nandini Reddy.
Rumor has it that she managed to negotiate her paycheck to match what she used to get for her bigger films, and the makers agreed.
This proves that Pooja Hegde has maintained her stardom and aura despite many of her films failing at the box office.
She hasn’t lost the craze among the audience and still has demand. She hasn’t faded away like some of the Bollywood beauties have become in the South like Rakul Preet Singh and others.
But she needs to sign some big projects opposite big heroes. But the cast of tier-1 heroes has been finalized and it will take some years for her to become the heroine of Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, NTR, Pawan Kalyan, or Prabhas.
Pooja Hegde could still stage a strong comeback with films opposite popular actors like Vijay Deverakonda, Ravi Teja, or Nani. So, Pooja Hegde may be down but definitely not out!
