On the occasion of Prabhas’ birthday, the makers of his upcoming film unveiled the first look poster of Fauzi, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. On the poster, a particular shloka is imprinted, which has made fans go crazy. This verse provides a vivid blueprint of how powerful Prabhas’s character will be.
पद्मव्यूह विजयी पार्थः
पाण्डवपक्षे संस्थितः कर्णः
गुरुविरहितः एकलव्यः
जन्मनेव च योद्धा एषः॥
The makers released this shloka along with the poster, perfectly encapsulating the essence of Prabhas’s character. The first line refers to Arjuna, the strategist who conquers the Padmavyuha. It symbolizes intelligence and unmatched warfare skills. The second line reflects Karna’s unwavering loyalty to dharma and his steadfast support for righteousness. Together, these lines suggest that the director is shaping a character with a grand canvas, combining both intellect and moral integrity.
The third line adds another layer, portraying Prabhas’s character as a self-taught, highly focused, and determined warrior, much like Ekalavya, who mastered warfare without a teacher. The final line emphasizes that he is a warrior by birth, highlighting innate valor and heroism.
From this shloka alone, it is evident that Hanu Raghavapudi is not merely making a 1940s spy thriller. Instead, he is weaving the traits of three great Mahabharata heroes into a single “complete warrior” embodied by Prabhas. These include Arjuna’s strategic brilliance, Karna’s dharma-driven loyalty, and Ekalavya’s disciplined mastery.
Interestingly, Prabhas and his directors seem to have a fascination with him being typecast as Karna. In Salaar 2, he played a character with Karna-like traits. In Kalki 2898 AD, he was portrayed literally as Karna’s reincarnation. Now, he embodies the Karna character again in Fauzi. A section of audience doesn’t like Karna’s character getting glorified as they think Arjuna was the real hero and not Karna who took the side of Kauravas and Adharma. Because of this, Fauzi and Prabhas are getting mixed reactions.
Fans are eagerly waiting to see how this complete warrior comes alive on the big screen.
