Prabhas is particularly impressed by Akshaye Khanna and Sriya Reddy in the recently released glimpse of Prasanth Varma’s Mahakali.
Sharing the glimpse on his Instagram story, Prabhas congratulated Prasanth Varma and the entire team. He specifically praised the performances, calling Akshaye Khanna and Sriya Reddy “absolutely terrific” in the glimpse. Prabhas’ post can simply be seen as appreciation for a fellow filmmaker’s film. But fans immediately started looking at the timing differently.
Prabhas is committed to collaborating with Prasanth Varma on a much-awaited project backed by Hombale Films. This has now raised an obvious question:
When will Prabhas and Prasanth Varma actually begin their film? There are also speculations that Prasanth Varma has the hot-n-happening Bhagyashri Borse in mind opposite Prabhas.
Prabhas already has a packed lineup. Spirit is one of his most awaited upcoming projects, while Salaar 2 and Kalki 2 are also expected to take up a significant part of his schedule in the next few years. If the Prasanth Varma project is moving ahead, the makers will have to plan it around his other commitments.
The bigger speculation is about Brahma Rakshas.
Prasanth Varma had earlier developed the project with Ranveer Singh, but that collaboration eventually fell apart. Now that Prabhas is linked with Prasanth Varma and Hombale Films, fans are wondering whether the director could revive the same concept with Prabhas.
The big question now is when the project will go on floors. Will it happen before Salaar 2 in 2027? Or after it? There is also speculation that both projects could be planned around the same period in 2028, with Hombale Films backing both.
Prasanth Varma has built his own cinematic universe with mythological and superhero elements. It will be interesting to see what he can cook up with a pan-India star like Prabhas.
The big question now is simple: When will Prabhas and Prasanth Varma begin their film, and could it actually be Brahma Rakshas?
