The Telangana police have been conducting a series of raids in Hyderabad city and across the state for the last few months to bust drug rackets.
In the latest development, actress Rakul Preet Singh’s brother, Aman Preet Singh, has been taken into custody by the police in a cocaine drug bust case.
Aman Preet Singh is also an actor. He was seen in films like Ninne Pelladutha and Ramrajya. Along with him,12 other potential consumers were taken into custody.
Among these individuals, five have tested positive for drug consumption, including Amanpreet. They have been tested positive through immediate urine tests. They are not arrested yet but sent to hospital for further tests.
The police have also arrested five sellers, which include three Nigerians and two locals.
Recently, SOT Rajendranagar and Telangana Anti-Narcotics Department have conducted a joint operation and detained Aman Preet and other sellers and consumers separately. They have also seized 199 grams of cocaine.
Senior IPS officer, Sandeep Sandilya and his team identified 30 members who are allegedly consuming these drugs. The search is on for the others.
Reportedly, the drug mafia is run by Divine Ebuka, who left for Nigeria. He used to run his Hyderabad mafia with the help of his associate Onuoha Blessing.
She brought around 2.6 kg of cocaine into the city and had been selling and consuming it over the past six months.
It is heard the woman sold these drugs to high-end customers. She used to sell to dealers who later sold the drugs to consumers.
She used to mostly travel by flights and trains in the rites of Hyderabad-Delhi and Hyderabad-Bengaluru. The police had been focusing on her movements for a long time and finally nabbed her at a flat in Narsingi.
