Ram Charan has found himself at the center of a social media controversy after a recent comment about Dhurandhar 2. During the recent conclave where he spoke about Indian cinema, Ram Charan mentioned the Dhurandhar phenomenon and said that he watched the film last week on OTT.
That statement immediately caught the attention of social media users.
The reason? Ram Charan had already posted a lengthy appreciation tweet praising Dhurandhar shortly after its theatrical release. As soon as clips from the event surfaced online, trolls began questioning the apparent contradiction.
Some users sarcastically asked how Charan could praise the film months ago if he had watched it only last week.
A section of anti-fans claimed that Charan’s earlier tweet may have been posted without actually watching the film. Some even mocked him by suggesting that the appreciation tweet was merely an attempt to impress director Aditya Dhar. A few social media posts went as far as asking whether Charan was indirectly sending feelers to Aditya Dhar to cast him in a future project.
However, there is another side to the story.
It is also possible that Charan was referring to a recent rewatch of Dhurandhar 2 on OTT. The statement appears to have been taken out of context and unnecessarily turned into a controversy.
Appreciation tweets, congratulatory messages, and promotional endorsements are common practice in the film industry. Actors frequently support films made by colleagues, friends, and business associates. Dhurandhar was backed by Jio Studios with which Ram Charan shares a strong professional relationship. Supportive posts between industry stakeholders are hardly surprising.
