The Telugu box office witnessed two new films yesterday in the form of Rao Bahadur and Naga Bandanam. These two films belong to completely different genres, and they catered to two different sections of the audience as well.
For now, let us have a look at the box office side of things as both the films have reported their first day collections.
First, let us discuss about Rao Bahadur, which has Sathyadev in the lead role and it is directed by Venkatesh Maha. Great things were said about this film from the team before the release, but that did not necessarily translate into good reviews. It opened to mix reactions.
Coming to the revenue, it had reportedly calculated the vicinity of 3.9 crore gross on the opening day. This is a right number for a film of this scale, but it will have to collect significantly more to recover the investments.
We have the case of Naga Bandanam, which is reportedly made on a significant budget for a lessor known face like Virat. Subsequently, the film needed a pretty strong start at the ticket counters.
There is no official number yet, but this film also could have collected in the range of ₹4 crore gross on the opening day. This is a decent number for the main lead’s market pull at this point. But considering the massive budget that has been allocated, this film will need to hold its own.
Both the films have started on a moderate note at the ticket counters and will have to sustain the momentum over the weekend if they are to be classified as successful films.
