Ravi Teja may finally have a reason to smile again. Irumudi released in theatres today, August 21, and the early response coming in so far is largely positive. The film is getting attention for its emotional core, thriller portions and particularly its climax, while the Mallepoola Pallaki song is also creating a strong theatre vibe.
This is significant for Ravi Teja, who has been desperately waiting for a solid comeback. After Dhamaka in 2022, the actor’s solo run became inconsistent, with films such as Ravanasura, Tiger Nageswara Rao, Eagle, Mr. Bachchan and Mass Jathara failing to deliver the desired box-office impact. Waltair Veerayya was a major success, but it was a multi-starrer led by Chiranjeevi.
What makes Irumudi different is Ravi Teja stepping away from his regular mass template and surrendering himself to Shiva Nirvana’s story. If the positive talk continues through the weekend and translates into strong collections, this could be more than just another decent outing.
After a long wait, Ravi Teja could finally be back on track.
