Ravi Teja seemed really hopeful of his latest theatrical release Tiger Nageswara Rao which is the biopic of an infamous Telugu dacoit with the same name.
Incidentally, Ravi Teja aggressively promoted the film in the Hindi belt. He gave several interviews to Hindi media and even attended many promotional events in the North belt along with North actress Nupur Sanon who played the leading lady role in the film.
But despite all the emphasis on the Hindi market and relevant efforts, Tiger Nageswara Rao went nowhere at the Hindi box office.
The film couldn’t post even mention-worthy openings there, let alone having a good weekend. It is a complete washout and might not even cover the promotional expenses.
Strangely enough, Ravi Teja had prioritized Hindi media over Telugu for this film with this proactive approach up North. He gave more Hindi interviews than Telugu ones.
He even said this film is his next big thing after Rowdy Rathore in Hindi. But the box office numbers of TNR in Hindi don’t speak up for it. His hopes of making it to the pan Indian circuit were quashed by TNR which is a non-starter in Hindi.
