Director Harish Shankar is teaming up with Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja for the third time after Shock and Mirapakaya. The duo is set to create another entertainer, promising a “spicier” mass reunion.
As Pawan Kalyan is occupied with political commitments, delaying their project “Ustaad Bhagat Singh,” Harish Shankar aims to utilize this time gap for a new film.
Ravi Teja fans aren’t too happy with this development as reports suggest that this film is going to be a remake of Ajay Devgn’s Raid.
There are also some assumptions that Raid itself was a remake of Akshay Kumar’s Special 26 which has been already remade as Gang (Telugu dub) with Suriya. So fans are calling this new Ravi Teja film a remake of a remake.
To make things clear, Raid was not a remake of Special 26. It was based on the real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department in the 1980s. It was the longest raid in Indian history, lasting 3 days and 2 nights. Whereas Special 26 was a con heist film.
Ravi Teja and Harish Shankar’s film might be an adapted version of Raid. This spicier mass reunion might be a remake but definitely not a remake of a remake.
Raid was a very serious and gritty film whereas this film is expected to be filled with enough entertainment and commercial elements.
Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibotla will produce this upcoming project under the People Media Factory banner. The film is slated to commence production soon.
