Beyond Kantara: Rishab Shetty Hijacks Our Mythology

Rishab Shetty won the hearts of the audience a few years ago with Kantara. Now, the actor has a few more projects lined up, all related to mystery, folklore, historical storytelling, and mythological characters

Let’s start with Kantara Chapter 1 that is all set to roar into theatres on October 2, 2025.

The actor’s mythic avatar will continue in Jai Hanuman, directed by Prasanth Varma under Mythri Movie Makers. However, its release date is yet to be announced!

Then, you will get to see some patriotic drama in The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, helmed by Sandeep Singh. For the unversed, it is slated for a Republic Day weekend release on January 21, 2027.

Adding to the nationalist wave is 1770, an ambitious adaptation of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Anandamath, directed by Ashwin Gangaraju.

Ashutosh Gowariker also returns with what could be another magnum opus, a biopic on Sri Krishnadevaraya, the legendary Vijayanagara emperor. And who will play the titular role? Of course, Rishab Shetty! Once again, the release date remains under wraps!

At a time when the audience are loving culturally rooted, high stakes films like Kantara and Kalki 2898 AD, the new list by Rishab Shetty is sure to leave them happy.

He is undoubtedly a versatile actor and we can’t wait to see more of him in these films soon!
