Sachin’s adopted village is getting neglected?

The entire country turns its head towards Puttamrajuvari Kandriga village in Nellore district when cricketer turned MP Sachin Tendulkar adopted a small remote place in Andhra Pradesh as a part of Modi’s Swachh Bharat Campaign. Suddenly Kandriga’s name got attached to Sachin’s name and came to limelight. Infact many others seemingly looked towards it with envious eyes.

But just a few months, the importance of Kandriga got faded away and Sachin’s adopted village is getting neglected. Though funds were released for some schemes, they weren’t used and many other proposed schemes have absolutely no funds. As per the reports only a few concrete roads have been laid and 65 houses got water facility so far.

While the basic strategy of development includes a community hall, a waiting hall, an anganwadi school, a kitchen and dining hall for an existing school, converting mud houses into pucca houses; many of these didn’t kick start even. And though Sachin has offered Rs.2.79 crores from his MP lads for drinking water (115 houses), to set up a power station for power supply (Rs.35 lakhs) and underground sewage pipes (Rs.45 lakhs); the developmental actvities aren’t par with the hype created when Sachin chose to adopt the village.
