With each passing day, the options for dates to release Prabhas’ Salaar are getting reduced. The next best time to release Salaar after its postponement from September 28 was in November, December, or January.
Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s Tiger 3 and The Marvels are releasing for Diwali on November 10. So Salaar can’t target any date around their release. November 24 still remains one option. But Animal is coming on December 1, starring Ranbir Kapoor, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
The next best date is during the Christmas week. But apart from SRK’s Dunki, DC’s magnum opus Aquaman is also releasing on December 21. Salaar can’t take that date if it doesn’t want to lose out on a substantial number of shows and screens, especially the IMAX ones.
So it again boils down to Sankranthi, which is already crowded with Guntur Kaaram, Hanuman, and other films.
The trade feels the makers have made a blunder by losing out on the September 28 date, which was one of the best dates ever for a monster like Salaar. Only they are to be blamed for the mess they have caused, not only for themselves but also for other films.
