But it’s Salman who hogged all the attention of the viewers on the day the judgement day was fixed i.e., on 25th April. Besides Salman Khan, the same day turned out to be a fateful one because of Nepal earthquake.

Both Salman Khan and Nepal earthquake kept the viewers hooked to their television sets watching the updates of the two events; one a made-made blunder at the cost of life and the other one, a natural calamity which cost thousands of innocent lives in Khatmandu.
According to the survey report of Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC), viewers frequently turned on their television sets to check the updates on Salman’s ‘hit and run’ case and the devastating aftermath of Nepal quake. The viewership reached to peaks in some channels placing them on the top in viewership rank list.
While Aaj Tak and ABP News occupied first two places in Hindi News Channels segement, Times Group Channels and CNN-IBM are the top rankers in English News segment. This rush to catch updates began from 18th April and was seen upto 8th May, the day on which Salman’s 2-year jail sentence was suspended.
