One of the most dynamic and aggressive film makers of this generation is Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who has iconic films like Arjun Reddy and Animal to instate his legacy.
However, Sandeep Reddy is getting badly crashed on social media for the last few hours, and this is something to do with his post about Tamil Star Vijay, who won the Tamil Nadu election.
While extending his wishes to Thalapathy Vijay on the occasion of his historic victory, Sandeep shared a message on socials last night.
“This is what CINEMA can do, it can move people, shake systems, and turn presence into POWER. Here CINEMA stepping off the screen and owning the ground. Not hype. Not noise. Real power. My deepest heartfelt congratulations to @actorvijay sir and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.” He wrote.
In the sweet Sandeep Reddy gave the implication that cinema has power beyond the screen and can generate a lot of traction in real life and has the real power to change the scenarios.
This immediately invited negative criticism from Telugu Cinema followers. They are commenting that Sandeep is aware that cinema can influence the real life, but still makes films on adultery, violence and murky relations.
The majority of the comments under this post from Sandeep say that he might be knowingly making such films that glorify violence and abusive relations while aware that people might influence from it.
But at the end of the day, the criticism is largely subjective in nature. Creative storytelling and presentation can be in any shape of form. Using this logic to target Sandeep and make a meal of it will come across as a very convenient argument. If godly and good morale films can’t enhance society, then vice versa.
