Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film was originally scheduled to release on August 11 to capitalize on the Independence Day weekend. But yesterday it was announced by Vanga himself that the film will now arrive on December 1.
According to Vanga, they had to postpone Animal to achieve a polished quality product. He said, for example, that there are seven songs in the film, which multiplies to 35 songs, including all dubbed versions. He said creating 35 songs with different sets of lyricists and singers would take a little more time than what he actually planned.
Animal is an action crime drama with loads of violence and gore. And having seven songs in a film in this era where people get bored of even 2-3 songs is such a bold and risky decision. If the screenplay and drama don’t turn out to be exciting, then the seven songs are going to hurt the film big time.
On the contrary, if the songs are also treated as scenes and woven seamlessly into the screenplay, then Animal might actually turn out to be a very unique, violent musical action film.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga is one director who doesn’t stick to the usual norms, as we have seen with his first film, Arjun Reddy/Kabir Singh. Let’s see if Vanga creates another cult film with Animal or not.
