Actor Sanjay Dutt had replaced Arjun Rampal and Sonu Sood to get the opportunity of playing Sher Khan in ‘Zanjeer’ remake. Following in the massive footpaths left by the late actor Pran, Sanjay was fully aware of the ramifications of playing this great role. Pran had awed everybody with his great performance in the 1973 blockbuster and had set a new trend for bad guy-turns-good concept. To his credit, Sanjay left no stone unturned and tried to do complete justice to the character. He underwent a complete makeover, lost some weight and to top it all, he also had a face uplift done to look younger.
The producer had stated that Pran saab himself was very happy with the choice of Sanjay Dutt in that role. Unfortunately for Sanjay, Pran died before he could see his performance in the film. But, with the launch of Zanjeer’s latest number hochey pathan quwaali, Sanjay Dutt has paid his tribute to the late actor.
