Sankranthiki Vasthunnam OTT Delayed

Venkatesh Daggubati’s Sankranthiki Vasthunnam has been a box office sensation since its release on January 14. The film recently crossed the Rs 180 crores gross mark in India and continues to dominate theaters.

However, with Sankranthiki Vasthunam collecting an impressive Rs 180 crores in 14 days and surpassing Rs 210 crores globally, the makers are now negotiating with ZEE5 to postpone the streaming release.

As per reports, ZEE5 acquired the film’s digital rights for Rs 30 crore, initially planning an OTT debut in the second week of February 2025. Now it seems the film won’t premiere before March 7th.

ZEE5 has acquired the OTT rights for Sankranthiki Vasthunam, but the platform doesn’t have the widespread reach or mass appeal of major competitors like Netflix, Prime Video, or Disney+ Hotstar.

So Sankranthiki Vasthunnam might not fetch the viewership numbers it deserves so the makers feel it is better to make full use of its theatrical run before its OTT premiere.
