He lost oodles of weight to sport a leaner look for the disfigured man and for another he turned a body builder with muscular look. For these two extremes looks, one can understand the maount of pain and hard work Vikram might have undergone.
Speaking about Vikram’s dedication, Shankar says, “It’s not easy to gain and lose weight for the same film. He didn’t just lose a few kilos, but he lost so much weight that I was worried about his health. I even told his wife that I had never asked him to lose weight.” There had been rumours making rounds on Vikram’s health and his fans seemed genuinely concerned and some of them accused Shanker for being responsible for doubts on Vikram’s health.

For the other role of a disfigured man, I never asked Vikram to lose weight but he felt it would suit the role.” This statement might seem that Shanker is washing his hands of the guilt but this shows the sheer dedication and passion of Vikram. Hats off!
