Should BAN Be Ruthless On Rangasthalam?

As expected, a chaotic situation has been created due to the arrival of 2.0 in April. It was always assumed, and few were prepared for it too. But what has taken everyone by surprise is the possibility of April 27 as the release date.

Long before the 2.0 announcement, Telugu cinema has had its issues among Bharat Ane Nenu and Naa Peru Surya for the same date. First of all, would it be sensible for another movie to hijack the date? Assuming that is indeed the case, what could be the best solution? Here is a tricky proposition!

Easily one of the two Telugu films can arrive on April 13th. It is most likely going to be Bharat Ane Nenu. Because if Naa Peru Surya comes on the same date, it would mean two big Mega hero films arriving back to back. In case of Allu Arjun that won’t go down well.

Now, imagine another scenario, Bharat Ane Nenu arriving on March 30. Yes, it is the date Rangasthalam unit is looking to come, but they haven’t made anything official yet. Remember the Dussera that went by Spyder team made the same mistake of not announcing the release date and Jai Lava Kusa made use of it. If the unit of Bharat Ane Nenu is sharp, it could make that call immediately as they have already made clear, a change in release date.

The move would allow Bharat Ane Nenu to be the first summer release, it will be a holiday (Good Friday) opening, and in case Rangasthalam takes April 13, it still gets four weeks before 2.0 as opposed to only two weeks if on April 13. It would be a smart move for a producer looking at best interests of the film.

An interesting trivia here is initially Bharat Ane Nenu, and Rangasthalam 1985 were supposed to clash for Sankranthi 2018. Will fate bring them together at another point? Let’s wait and see.
