Triptii Trolls: Will Vanga’s Biggest Gamble Pay Off?

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for his fearless creative choices, has once again made headlines—this time by casting Triptii Dimri as the female lead in his upcoming film Spirit, starring Prabhas.

What makes this decision particularly striking is that Triptii replaces Deepika Padukone, one of Bollywood’s biggest stars.

Following her exit, fans anticipated that another top-tier actress like Mrunal Thakur or Kiara Advani might be brought on board. Instead, Sandeep Vanga surprised everyone by choosing Triptii Dimri.

While Triptii isn’t yet part of Bollywood’s top-tier, she has shown strong acting potential in films like Qala, Laila Majnu, and Bulbbul.

She gained widespread recognition with her glamorous role in Animal, though many dismissed her as mere eye candy. Still, others saw promise—and Vanga appears to be among them.

The casting stirred debate in Bollywood circles, with some questioning how a director could replace a superstar like Deepika. However, many in the South—particularly Telugu audiences—have praised the decision.

From a production standpoint, Triptii’s casting also reduces costs significantly, helping the team manage the budget more efficiently without compromising on quality.

This isn’t a one-off move either. Vanga’s past casting choices—including Shalini Pandey in Arjun Reddy, Kiara Advani in Kabir Singh, and Rashmika Mandanna in Animal—reflect his fearless and bold choices.

While some backlash and trolling have followed Triptii’s selection, it’s premature to judge. People should stop trolling and disrespecting Triptii Dimri.

Whether in life or business, someone’s loss is someone else’s gain—and vice versa. Judge her performance after the film releases. It’s better to stop belittling anyone.

Sandeep Vanga has a reputation for turning relatively unknown names into stars. Spirit could very well be the breakout film that elevates Triptii Dimri to a new league.

In the end, this wasn’t just a casting change—it was a clear statement. Sandeep Reddy Vanga isn’t chasing names. He’s building stories, and for that, he trusts his instincts over popularity.
