Spy Pittakatha: Amazon Wants Incomplete Film To Release?

Nikhil-Siddharth-SPY-MovieIt is all but confirmed that Nikhil’s Spy is getting postponed from 29 June to a later date. Given the pending shoot and CGI works, Nikhil wants to postpone the release but the producer is adamant as he is looking to cash in on the buzz.

This news was exclusively reported by M9.news and henceforth, there were two different narratives planted in media.

While one is that Nikhil is a greedy hero and he troubles all his producers in this manner, the other is that the film’s OTT partner Amazon Prime wants the film to release on 29 June at any cost.

Firstly, there’s no clarity on Nikhil being greedy. We don’t know about his previous films and related experiences. But in the case Spy, he is pushing for postponement due to the pending shoot and CGI works. There’s a schedule on 15,16 of this month.

Wrapping the shoot, post production, promotions, and then coming on 29 June is impossible, he argues.

If Nikhil is greedy for wanting good output, then heroes should indeed be greedy as they are the faces of the films and making sure they do their best is essential.

As for Amazon, they don’t have any agreements for theatrical release. It is only that their OTT deals have 1 year validity. They wouldn’t be pushing for a hurried release on 29 June while the important works like filming and post production are incomplete.

It is heard that Nikhil conveyed to Amazon that there’s an important schedule on 15, and 16th of this month and this portion will elevate the film. Amazon result agreed to the same and they asked Nikhil not to compromise on the quality of the output, it seems.

So, the rumors about Amazon pushing Spy for June 29 release is nothing but a Pittakatha.

The producer of Spy is better off working with his hero on the pending portion, quality of the product and release date rather than planting media reports against the latter.

Else, he will be giving an indication that working with non-regular producers will land heroes in situations like these as these producers will only look after their profits and not care about quality and their heroes.
