While everyone knows she hails from Karnataka, her own state has been heavily criticizing her. Recently, a Congress MLA also lashed out at her, adding fuel to the ongoing backlash.

The trolling against Rashmika in Karnataka intensified after some of her recent comments. Amid this, Kannada actress and politician Ramya came to her defense and gave a strong counter to the trolls.
Ramya, well known to South Indian audiences, had acted in the Telugu film Abhimanyu alongside Kalyan Ram. However, after the movie flopped, she didn’t return to Telugu cinema.

Speaking at the Bengaluru International Film Festival, Ramya urged people to stop trolling Rashmika and not to harass her any further.
“Please stop insulting and harassing through trolling. This is inhumane. Women are generally soft-spoken and do not retaliate, but that doesn’t mean they should be subjected to such harassment.”

“In today’s world, injustice against women is not limited to the film industry but exists in every field. We all need to unite against this,” she said.
The backlash against Rashmika escalated after she recently mentioned in an event that she considers Hyderabad her home.
This statement angered many Kannadigas, who have taken their criticism to the next level.
