Supreme Court sets deadline on Jump Jilanis issue!

Supreme Court on a petition filed by Errabelli Dayakara Rao and other Congress leaders regarding defections in the state, set 2 months deadline to Telangana Speaker. The apex court opined that they will not interfere in this issue at this stage since it is in Speaker’s purview.

However the apex court said that they will wait and see for two months in this issue and will examine the case if nothing happens after that. Hyderabad High Court instructed the Telangana Speaker to take a decision on this about 18 months ago but nothing happened.

The ruling party had already poached more than a dozen MLAs from opposition parties and are looking at more. A weak defection law in constitution is aiding the defections.
