After achieving an industry hit with the massive success of Jailer in 2023, director Nelson Dilipkumar took a short break and began work on the sequel to Jailer with Rajinikanth. The shooting of Jailer 2 is almost nearing its final stages and the team is aiming to release the film this October.
Meanwhile, even before the release of Jailer 2, Nelson Dilipkumar has already confirmed his next project, which is the highly anticipated reunion film of Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, tentatively titled KH×RK. The shooting of this film is expected to begin at the beginning of next year and immediately after the release of Jailer 2, Nelson Dilipkumar plans to start the pre-production work for this film.
While strong reports initially suggested that Nelson Dilipkumar was planning to collaborate with NTR for a dark comedy film following the KH×RK film, fresh reports suggest that, due to NTR’s commitments, the director is planning to replace him with Suriya.
According to strong speculations, Suriya’s team has approached Nelson Dilipkumar to helm Suriya’s milestone 50th film, for which Nelson Dilipkumar immediately gave a green signal.
Furthermore, since NTR’s project with Trivikram, tentatively titled God of War, is a large-scale mythological action film, it is expected to take at least two years. Therefore, Nelson Dilipkumar is planning to cast Suriya for the plot he originally created for his film with NTR.
In response to these speculations, Suriya fans have started celebrating, suggesting that if this project materializes, it would be a sure-shot blockbuster and they feel Suriya has chosen a solid director for his milestone 50th film. They believe that Nelson Dilipkumar is currently one of the best directors in Kollywood and hope that this project will elevate Suriya to the next level.
However, all these are just social media speculations and there have been no official updates on this yet. Hence, it remains to be seen whether Suriya and Nelson Dilipkumar will collaborate for Suriya’s milestone 50th film and, if they do, how the project will take shape in the future.
