It is relatively common for people within the film industry to alter their professions after appoint in time. We have seen assistant directors become heroes while assistant cinematographers, and editors become directors.
But there is the interesting trend that is happening in Tamil cinema, which is grabbing their attention while there is no such movement to this effect in Telugu Cinema.
For instance, we have the likes of Lokesh Kanagaraj and Pradeep Ranganathan, who started their careers as directors and have become heroes now.
Pradeep has delivered three films in the Rs 100 crore bracket till now as he got closer to the younger audience. On the other hand, we have the case of Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is also doing the same as his debut film as hero, DC was able to collect more hundred crore.
It is becoming increasingly irrelevant in Tamil cinema for directors to enter the acting stream and taste tremendous success. We have already witnessed a handful of entries into this prospect.
But we are yet to witness something like this happen in Telugu cinema has no young director appears to be in the mood or vision to execute the same.
It is not that Pradeep or Lokesh were cut to become heroes with their personalities or physical attributes. But they still fancy their chances and fate was on their side. Only time will tell if any young Telugu directors will also take this jump and do the needful.
