The teaser of Sai Dharam Tej’s upcoming flick Republic is out. If one were still wondering what Republic is all about, the teaser gives a powerful glimpse into the world.
The first thing that instantly strikes with the teaser is the writing. It is here that the ‘power’ in the tease generates. And then it is the dialogue delivery by Sai Dharam Tej. Without any doubt, it looks like his most intense yet.
The words and the visuals together generate an intrigue on the overall premise of Republic. The ‘democracy versus feudalism’ angle is exciting from a political drama angle if it is handled with current-gen sensibilities. If the content properly blends those two, we could have a memorable outing after a gap from director Deva Katta.
Prasthanam (2010) is the last ‘memorable’ outing from Deva Katta. It has been a decade since. During the subsequent period, Deva Katta had a chance with Autonagar Surya, but couldn’t make it. Well, after years, he has an opportunity now to bounce back big time.
While Deva Katta comes back to form, it also simultaneously helps Sai Dharam Tej break out from his usual commercial entertainers. It is a different outing from him entirely when compared to the last few flicks. It also suggests his growing confidence in proper scripts and characters instead of making formulaic choices based on successes.
Check out the trailer below. Aishwarya Rajesh is the heroine in the political drama, with Jagapathi Babu and Ramya Krishna playing crucial roles. Mani Sharma provides the music. Republic hits cinemas on June 4th.
