Raja Saab: Thaman Under Meesala Pilla Pressure?

Thaman composes music for Raja Saab movie

The promotions for the upcoming Sankranti films are picking up pace. However, one project that has caught everyone’s attention is Raja Saab. Among all the festival releases, Raja Saab is the biggest film, and it is the only one that has already released both its teaser and trailer.

Fans are now slightly worried about one thing. The team hasn’t released even a single audio track yet. Meanwhile, Meesala Pilla from Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is already ruling social media. Although the song initially faced heavy trolling for being “cringe,” it later went viral, amassing thousands of reels and millions of views.

Bheems Ceciroleo’s catchy tune and Udit Narayan’s energetic vocals worked perfectly with the mass audience. Director Anil Ravipudi once again proved his deep understanding of what entertains people.

Now, all eyes are on music composer Thaman, who is handling the soundtrack of Raja Saab. The film’s first song is expected to release in the first week of November. After the disappointment of Game Changer, Thaman somewhat regained his credibility and reputation with OG’s score. Raja Saab gives him a big opportunity to deliver a full-fledged commercial musical hit like those from the 2000s and 2010s. The film is a pure commercial mass entertainer.

The pressure on him is high because Prabhas fans have been missing albums like Mirchi and Darling, which had multiple chart-toppers that people still remember today. Even though big-budget films like Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD earned hundreds of crores, fans felt their soundtracks lacked lasting impact. Music is one department where Prabhas’ films have disappointed big time after Baahubali.

Fans are now eagerly waiting for Raja Saab’s songs to live up to their expectations. The first single must make a strong impression and ideally surpass Meesala Pilla in popularity.

Director Maruthi, who recently completed the foreign schedule, hasn’t yet revealed any visuals from the movie. According to insider reports, he and his team are planning an aggressive promotional campaign starting next month.
