The Sankranti 2026 season in Tollywood is shaping up to be one of the most crowded and unpredictable in years. There’s already confusion over which films will actually hit theatres and which might withdraw at the last minute.
Sankranti is traditionally Telugu cinema’s most profitable and competitive release window. Every year, multiple big films fight for limited screens, and the final lineup often changes just days before the festival. Some projects drop out due to low buzz or scheduling issues, while others confirm their slot closer to release.
As of now, the major titles lined up for Sankranti 2026 include Prabhas’ Raja Saab, Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, and Anaganaga Oka Raju. Securing enough screens for these films has already become a tough task, leaving little space for other releases.
Adding to the competition, Tamil biggies like Vijay’s Jana Nayakudu and Suriya’s Karuppu are also planning dubbed Telugu releases for the same period.
Meanwhile, two more Telugu films Ravi Teja’s Bhartha Mahasayulaku Vignapthi and Sharwanand’s Nari Nari Naduma Murari were initially expected to skip the festive race due to production delays and limited promotions. But their latest posters confirm that both are still eyeing a Sankranti release.
With so many films targeting the same festive window, releasing them all simultaneously seems nearly impossible. Some producers might be waiting to see if others back out, giving them a better slot and wider screen count. This uncertainty is keeping trade circles and fans on edge.
The final lineup will only become clear days before the festival. For now, Sankranti 2026 looks set to be one of Tollywood’s most exciting and unpredictable box office battles in recent memory.
