Puri Jagannadh and Charmee’s Double iSmart is releasing on August 15th. The movie was supposed to be a solo release for the film but it is facing tough competition now as Mr Bachchan entered the race. And there is Vikram’s Thangalaan and AAY from Geetha Arts compound releasing at the same time.
HanuMan Producer Niranjan Reddy bagged the rights of Double iSmart but then, but he is facing a big headache now in Nizam and Uttarandhra.
Liger is a massive loss venture for the buyers. Back then, Warangal Srinu brought the rights of Liger as a whole.
He collected money from the Exhibitors and now disappeared out of the business.
Suniel Narang in Nizam and Dil Raju in Uttarandhra are also the victims of Liger.
But then, Puri and Charmee brushed off their hands from this issue as they sold the film to Warangal Srinu and not to these buyers. Moreover, it is a Non-Refundable Advance Deal. So, there is no legal obligation for them.
The Exhibitors of Nizam say they gave their advances to Warangal Srinu keeping Charmee and Asian Suniel in the loop and they can not evade the responsibility.
The problem now is that the Exhibitors affected by Liger are unlikely to give their theaters to Double iSmart.
Unless the issue is resolved somehow, Asian Suniel and Dil Raju will not cooperate.
Suniel has prime multiplexes like AMB, AAA, Asian Multiplexes, and Several Single Screen Theaters in Nizam. Dil Raju has hold of some major theaters in the Vizag area.
Exhibitors have ganged up and are saying they will not release Double iSmart if they are not settled.
One year ago, Liger Exhibitors staged a Dharna at the Film Chamber. Suniel Narang arrived at the Protest site and convinced them to call off the protest. He assured me that Puri and Charmee are making another film and will definitely resolve it.
Suniel himself has 3 Crore pending from Liger. Back then, he even said Liger producers should settle small exhibitors first and can only settle them next.
“ఎక్కడికి పోతారు అమ్మా… సెటిల్ చేస్తారు. ఎక్కడికి పోతారు? గడబిడ చెయ్యకూడదు. ప్రేమగా సాధించుకోవాలి,” Suniel Narang told before media.
Puri and Charmee are saying they are not obliged to pay for Liger Exhibitors since they paid money to Warangal Srinu. But the buyers claim Warangal Srinu collected money from them and paid to the Liger Producers and so they are the ultimate beneficiaries.
Normally, Exhibitors would not dare to blacklist a film because they would lose feeding during the crucial holiday season.
But that is the only case when Double iSmart is the only release.
Now, they have the option of screening films like Mr Bachchan, Thangalaan, and AAY. So, there is no issue of feeding as well.
