Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, Balakrishna: Tollywood’s New Trend

Tollywood’s top stars are currently busy with some of their biggest upcoming projects, and interestingly, all three of them seem to be in full action mode at the same time.

The stars in question are Megastar Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, and Balakrishna, all of whom are now shooting important action portions for their respective films.

Prabhas is currently busy with Fauzi, the big period drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The latest buzz is that the team is now filming a major action episode as part of the current schedule. Since Fauzi is set against a war backdrop, these action blocks are naturally becoming one of the film’s biggest attractions.

Balakrishna too is said to be shooting a major action sequence for his ongoing film with Gopichand Malineni. Given Balayya’s mass image and Gopichand’s style of staging hero elevations, expectations are already high around how these portions will play out on screen.

Then there is Chiranjeevi, who is working on his 158th film with Bobby. According to industry talk, the film features an unexpected action episode, and what makes it more interesting is the claim that Chiranjeevi himself is performing some risky stunt portions.

That is the striking part here.

All three stars belong to different generations and carry very different images, but at this stage, each of them seems to be leaning heavily on action-driven content in their upcoming films. Whether it is Prabhas fronting a large-scale period war drama, Balayya doing another mass action entertainer, or Chiranjeevi attempting risky stunt work in a commercial setup, the common thread is hard to miss.

It also says a lot about where the current market stands. In today’s theatrical climate, especially for star-driven films, action episodes and elevation blocks have become almost non-negotiable. Songs and comedy still matter, but when it comes to creating pre-release hype, fan excitement, and theatrical highs, action remains the biggest currency.

So, for now, one thing is clear: Tollywood’s top stars are all moving in the same direction. Different films, different packaging, but the same core belief: if you want to sell a big-star Telugu film in 2026, action still does the heaviest lifting.
