Ravi Teja’s Kick 2, sequel to the highly popular Kick is coming with a landing cost of more than 30 cr and almost nearing forty. The actor has in his career not breached the 30 cr collection mark yet. Keeping this in mind there are already tongues wagging about how Kalyan Ram has over estimated and over spend on the film and now with the release date known many are saying this is very poor business acumen being display by the actor cum producer.
The problem with June 12 release date is that not only the film comes after the completion of summer holidays, it also comes after few big entertainers. What this means is if they click at the box office the audience wouldn’t be willing to spend anymore money on anything remotely average. It would make the chances of recovery even more difficult.
To put it simple and straight forward, Kick 2 would have to open with blockbuster talk and then do blockbuster business for the makers to recover. The summer trend of this year has to be reversed for it to be achieved. Everyone including the producer and actor here are trusting director Surender Reddy, can he deliver?
