Trade Talk: Tentative Release Dates for Biggies

The effect of Covid 3rd wave was not as devastating as initially feared. Yes, there were a few A-lister postponements. But things are starting to clear up dather quickly as Covid outbreak in India continues to susbide at an encouraging rate. Now, here are the new proposed release plans for forthcoming South Indian biggies.

RRR – 18 March/ 28 April

The magnum opus RRR Movie had to opt out of the 7th January release slot due to the Covid outbreak. The makers had recently announced 18 March and 28 April as the two new release plans. The film is more likely to arrive on 28th April.

Bheemla Nayak – Feb 25/ April 1

The makers of Bheemla Nayak had previously announced February 25th as the release date. But there are rumors that the release plan might be defered. April 1 is the new proposed release date for the film. (depends on Occupancy and rates in AP).

Radhe Shyam – March 4/ 11

Radhe Shyam is another biggie that missed Sankranthi release window due to the Covid outbreak. The film is apparently lining up for March 4 or 11 release now.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata – May 27 / August 5

The Mahesh Babu starrer Sarkaru Vaari Paata is all but confirmed to 1st April release slot due to the delay in completion of the shoot. The film is likely to lock either May 27 or August 5 as its new release date.

Acharya

The Chiranjeevi starrer has been in the making for many years now. The makers recently announced 1st April as its new release date, but the film looks set to skip the slot again. In case, it opts out of 1 April release, the film’s release is likely to be pushed to the second week of May. Acharya is heavily dependent on RRR (Check here).

F3

This film’s release is directly linked to RRR’s release plan. If RRR locks 28 April release slot, which is initially locked for F3, then the latter will be vacating the same. If RRR picks 28 April slot, F3’s release is likely to be preponed to 18 March.

KGF 2 and Beast – April 14

Two South Indian biggies KGF 2 and Beast are likely to arrive on the same day – April 14. KGF 2 had already announced 14 April as the release date. Beast is also contemplating the same date, but an official announcement is awaited.

Valimai – 24th February/4th March

The Ajith Kumar starrer also had to skip the Sankranthi release window due to Covid. It is now gearing up for release towards the end of February or early March. 24 February and 4 March are the two new tentative release dates.
