Vijay in Jailer2: Too Many Stars, Too Less Rajinikanth?

Rajinikanth’s most anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is currently in the post-production stage and is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15th.

Ever since the announcement of Jailer 2, many Kollywood audiences have been curious about which star actors are going to appear in cameo roles, because one of the major reasons for the massive success of the original Jailer was the powerful cameos by Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar.

While sources have already suggested that both Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are part of this sequel, there are also reports that, apart from them, actors like Vijay Sethupathi, Hrithik Roshan, Fahadh Faasil and stars from other languages are also part of the film.

Even though the makers of Jailer 2 have not officially confirmed Vijay Sethupathi’s presence in the movie, Vijay Sethupathi himself has confirmed that he has acted in a cameo role.

Following the rumors that numerous stars are part of the cast, many people are curious about how Nelson Dilipkumar has handled so many prominent actors and whether all of them will have a solid screen presence.

In this scenario, now there is strong speculation that Vijay Sethupathi allocated a two-day call sheet for Jailer 2. Reportedly, he shot for one day during the Goa schedule and one day during the Chennai schedule. Furthermore, there is information suggesting that he will have approximately 15 minutes of screen time in the film.

In response to this speculation, while some users have taken it positively, commenting that Nelson Dilipkumar seems to have accommodated good screen presence and decent screentime for the actors instead of using them for just a single scene and are also curious about the impact Vijay Sethupathi’s character will create, whereas others are using this speculation to troll the makers.

They argue that if Nelson Dilipkumar had given 15 minutes to every guest actor, Rajinikanth might not have had enough scope to perform. They claim that with such a massive cast, if every actor receives significant screen time, Jailer 2 will not feel like a Rajinikanth film and his role will lose its weightage despite him being the lead. Consequently, they have trolled the production by joking that it seems like Rajinikanth is playing a cameo in Jailer 2 alongside a bunch of star actors.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen how Nelson has handled this massive star cast and whether Jailer 2 will satisfy audience expectations and emerge as a blockbuster success upon its release on October 15th.
