Rajinikanth’s most anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is currently in the post-production stage and is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15th.
Ever since the announcement, this film has carried huge expectations among the audience because the original Jailer was a massive success and collected more than 600 crores worldwide at the time.
Meanwhile, Kollywood audiences are eagerly awaiting to witness which top actors from other industries are part of Jailer 2, as one of the major reasons for the success of Jailer was the powerful cameo appearances of Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar.
Even though there have been no official updates on the casting of the film, actor Vijay Sethupathi, in one of his interviews revealed that he has played a cameo role in it.
Recently, Vijay Sethupathi gave an explanation in an interview about why he acted in Jailer 2 and it is now going viral on social media. Vijay Sethupathi stated that he had stopped doing cameos and did only Jailer 2. He claimed that he did a cameo role in Jailer 2 just to watch Rajinikanth. Also, he noted that if he did a cameo role in a Rajinikanth film, people wouldn’t even notice him.
Whereas, if he does a cameo role in other films, it affects the film and his market. Hence, he suggested that the script decides it and if he feels he is the right fit, he will do a cameo role; otherwise, he will not.
In response to these comments by Vijay Sethupathi, many people on social media are pointing to a previous statement he made a few months ago claiming that he would not do cameo roles hereafter because many directors were taking him for granted, saying it seems like Vijay himself has broken his own rule for Rajinikanth.
They feel that Vijay Sethupathi has made a huge blunder by doing a cameo in Jailer 2 because they note that the film already has a massive star cast and due to the weightage and presence of other actors, his cameo appearance might go unnoticed.
