Vijayawada may have to go a long way in catching up Hyderabad in terms of getting investments but the city is ahead of Hyderabad in the tallest Ganesha of the year race. The biggest Ganesha is Hyderabad is that of Khairathabad Ganesh which is 59 feet long.

Vijayawada’s tallest Ganesh is four feet taller than that of Khairathabad Ganesh and is also eco-friendly made of 30 tonnes iron and 50 tonnes clay. As a different practice from the routine, the Laddu at Vijayawada will not be auctioned and also the idol will not be immersed in any water body to protect the environment.
