Megastar’s Vishwambhara Finally Ready? Can It Bounce Back?

Chiranjeevi Vishwambhara VFX update

Among Chiranjeevi‘s upcoming films, Vishwambhara is easily the one creating the most concern. Directed by Vassishta, the socio-fantasy drama was initially expected to release in January 2025. However, the film has been postponed multiple times, and even in June 2026, there is still no official clarity on its release.

The latest industry buzz, however, brings some positive news.

According to reports, the film’s extensive VFX work has finally been completed. The team recently watched the final visuals, and Chiranjeevi himself is said to be extremely happy with the output. If true, this could be a major relief for fans who have been waiting for an update for months.

The film stars Trisha Krishnan as the female lead. Industry insiders say Vishwambhara will blend the fantasy of Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari with the emotional family drama of Hitler, making it a commercial entertainer with a fantasy backdrop. But fans hope it does not become another big-budget fiasco like Anji, which spent years in production before ending up as a box-office flop.

One question continues to haunt not just fans but also the makers: Can Vishwambhara recover from the damage caused by its teaser?

When the first teaser was released, it received heavy trolling for its poor-looking visual effects. Instead of building excitement, it virtually killed the film’s hype. The backlash reportedly forced the makers to spend more time refining the VFX, leading to repeated postponements.

Since then, the production has remained unusually silent. Apart from occasional reports about the VFX work, there have been very few official updates, leaving fans increasingly frustrated.

Trade circles also believe the film has lost much of its initial buzz. What was once projected as one of Chiranjeevi’s biggest event films is no longer generating the same level of excitement.

Good visual effects alone will not guarantee success. The screenplay, emotional connect, and entertainment value have to be equally strong.

The encouraging news is that the VFX may finally be ready. But the makers now face another challenge: bringing back the excitement.

A powerful trailer, a memorable song, and a release date announcement could revive discussion around the film. If the final promotional campaign lands well, some of the negativity may fade. But winning back audience confidence will not be easy.

The ball is now firmly in the makers’ court.
